The Band are playing for the Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Church [Church Rd, Barnes, London SW13 9HL] this Sunday, November 10th. Dress code is all-black, very smart please, and bring a music stand. Timings: please arrive for a 0945 rehearsal with the choir/organist. There should be time to grab a coffee from nearby cafes before the service, which starts at 1050am. Shortly before 11am you may wish to observe the wreath-laying/Last Post in the churchyard outside. If so, please use the side-door [ask others if you don’t know], and return quickly by the same route ready to play “Solemn Melody” as the congregation come in from the 2-minute silence, for the rest of the service. We’ll then be accompanying hymns, and playing “Songs That Won The Wars” at the end. The service will last about an hour. Huge thanks to everyone taking part, and to Simon Slack for representing the Band as he performs the Last Post at nearby St Michael’s Church.
